Getting your ring sling on!
At the last BWI-BA Berkeley meeting, my co-leader and Master Babywearing Educator Sarah Rockwell observed that the method I always teach for putting on a ring sling, creating a good seat and ensuring that the rings do not travel down too far with the initial adjustments, is simple and effective -- and differs in a few important details from what she most often sees babywearing educators use.
Different things, of course, will work best for different people; there are many "right" ways to get your sling on! But Sarah thought my "standard basic ring sling demo" worth sharing more widely, and talked me into recording this video.
I've used this technique for 13 years, have described it countless times in the discussion forums at TheBabyWearer.com and taught it at babywearing group meetings for what seems like forever, but I'd never made a video. We did this one at BWI-Bay Area's annual picnic the next day (thus the background noise), and her phone camera ran out of memory halfway through (you'll see the splice) but if you are new to ring slings or could use a teaching refresher, perhaps you will find this helpful.
